How is CBM calculated?
Convert length, width and height to metres, multiply them, then multiply by carton quantity. Sum across carton types for the shipment total.
What is volumetric weight?
Air freight often charges on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (cm volume ÷ a divisor such as 6000).
What is the sea “1 CBM = 1 tonne” rule?
A common planning shorthand compares actual tonnes with CBM and uses the higher as chargeable. Confirm the rule your forwarder applies on the lane.
Should I measure outer or inner size?
